Religious Drive

The Pope (this would be the former one, Pope Jean Paul) was in New York for a visit. During the drive, he was so amazed at the hustle & bustle, the sights and the sounds that he asked the chauffeur if he could drive the car instead.

After some trepidation and assurances from the Pope, the chauffeur changed seats with the Pope and sat in the back feeling rather awkward. Now, the Pope got so excited driving through the streets of New York, he started speeding.

And caught the eyes of a nearby police car which promptly pulled him over. The police man walked over, and as the contrite Pope started winding down his window, the officer took one look in and walked back to his car.

His partner is bloody surprised and asked, "Hey, why didn't you give the guy a ticket?"

The police officer said, "Look, I have no idea who that man was but if he has the Pope driving him around, I am not about to give him a ticket ..."
